Real over viral.
Sound Of World was founded in Istanbul in 2014 with one belief: the sounds coming out of Istanbul deserve a proper home. Not a major. Not a compromise. An independent label that moves fast and backs its artists completely.
The very first release, “Bermuda Şeytanı” by Veron Algos & Hidra, came out that same year. Veron Algos has been part of the story from the very beginning and appears on 18 of our releases. Since then the label has put out 135 releases with 78 artists — 237 tracks in total, including 12 EPs and albums.
2022 was our busiest year so far with 35 releases. Today the core of the roster — Veron Algos, Borqy, UZI, Aksan, Halodayı, Cairo, Murda and Critical — keeps the catalog growing, while new names like ZAPOX, roxaboi and Reckol & Yung Ouzo bring fresh sounds.
We don't chase trends. We document what's real.

Sound Of World is founded
“Bermuda Şeytanı” by Veron Algos & Hidra comes out in Jan 2014 — the label is born in Istanbul with its first release.
- 2016
Paydos
“Paydos” by Veron Algos, Hidra, Bossy & Fate Fat — a posse cut that captures the Istanbul underground of its time.
- 2021
The catalog opens up
22 releases in one year, including Ahiyan's album “Old Tape”. New artists join the roster.
- 2022
The busiest year
35 releases: UZI's album “EL CHAVO”, “ALTIN ŞAFAK” by Veron Algos, SipHoo & Raggadon Bonezklan, and RECO's debut “MASHALLAH”.
- 2023
Albums era
34 releases, with full-length records from Aksan (“Yüksek”), Modd (“LOTUS”) and UZI (“YOUNGSTA”), plus Borqy's “ONDAN ESER”.
- 2024
New names, new sounds
29 releases — Borqy's “BGKA”, JEFF's album “SEVİMSİZ” and Cairo's EP “CAITYPE”.
- 2025
Still moving
UZI's EP “NEON”, and most recently “ATEŞ BARUT” by ZAPOX. The catalog now counts 135 releases.
